Restore Carbon helps organizations to offset CO2 emissions.

We:

  • inject cuttings into peatland

  • remove CO2

  • enhance the soil's structural stability

What we do

Restore Carbon inject cuttings and delivers high quality carbon removal while restoring peatlands.

Peatlands store vast amounts of carbon—twice as much carbon as all the world’s forests. But, rising levels of CO2 in the air are changing our climate. Climate change endangers the peatland, but underground lies a solution. Plants and trees absorb CO2 through photosynthesis, a process that happens naturally over millions of years. We store these plants deep into peatlands and deliver high quality Carbon removal and restore peatlands.

Our solution is...

Durable:
We help the peatlands store excess carbon dioxide from the air as biomass in the peatlands permanent.

Restorative:
Our solution reduces soil subsidence and makes the surface stronger, which can benefit land use, such as farming or infrastructure.

Scalable:
The vast surface area of peatlands can store gigatons of CO2 from plants.

Cost Competitive:
Our carbon removal credits will cost less than $100 per ton of CO2 by 2030.

Additional:
The carbon we remove is 100% additional, meaning the CO2 reduction would not have occurred without our solution.

Effectiveness:
Our carbon removal method is highly effective, outperforming other CDR types such as DAC. We achieve up to 90% efficiency.

A patented method:

Our solution is innovative patented method.

1. Plants absorb CO2 from the air;
2. In a boggy soil the plant residues do not decay;
3. The plant material accumulates and eventually forms a compact mass known as peat;
4. New plant residues are buried beneath the peat to store CO2.
